HAPPY BIRTHDAY Lufthansa Technik Sofia.
On this day the company celebrated two events. Dr Thomas Stueger - Head of Product&Services, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Mr Boyko Borisov and the CEO of LTSF Dr.Ruediger Hoeben-Stoermer had the honour to cut the ribon on the opening ceremony of three more lines. With this expansion LTSF becomes the biggest MRO in East and Central Europe.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes B737-300 of Brussels Airlines. The airline was established in 2006 with a fleet of over 45 aircrafts and it operates to over 65 destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and the USA. Its main base is at Brussels International Airport. In 2009, Brussels Airlines has launched a new regional airline in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The working name of the project is Korongo, where the aircraft comes from for a C-check in the maintenance base of Lufthansa Technik Sofia.

With a special ceremony Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes its new customer Air Moldova! The airline is the national carrier of Moldova and operates to 20 destinations in Europe. It's main base is Chisinau International Airport. The team of LTSF will perform C-check on their Airbus A320.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes Siberia Airlines! Our company will provide AOG Support for the customer’s Airbus A319 and A320 at Burgas and Varna Airport.
Siberia Airlines, operating as S7 Airlines, is Russian largest domestic air carrier. S7 Airlines has one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the Russian air carriage market.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes a new customer! The company signed a contract with the Saudi Arabian airline – Nasair. The new client will be provided with base maintenance for their Airbus A320, performed by the team of LTSF.
Nasair is a Saudi Arabian low-cost airline launched in 2007. The company owns the youngest fleet in the country and operates to more than 23 domestic and international destinations.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes OLT Express as a new customer! The Polish airline was provided with AOG Support for their Airbus A320 after unscheduled landing at Sofia Airport.
OLT Express was established in 2011 after Amber Gold took over two Polish airlines - OLT Jetair and Yes Airways. The company operates both domestic and international flights with new, or very little used, fleet.

For the upcoming summer season Lufthansa Technik Sofia concluded agreements with Ural Airlines, Primera Air, Luxair and EL AL Israel Airlines to provide line maintenance services and AOG Support at Burgas and Varna Airport.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes back Vladivostok Air! The Russian airline will be provided with heavy base maintenance for their Airbus A320. The team of LTSF will carry out an End-of-Lease Check on the aircraft.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes a new customer Pegasus Airlines! The Turkish company will be provided with base maintenance for two of their Boeing 737-800. The aircraft will undergo a C-Check performed by our team.
Pegasus Airlines was founded in Istanbul in 1990 and its fleet currently comprises 29 Boeing 737-800, 1 Boeing 737-500 and 2 Boeing 737-400.

On January 11th 2012, Lufthansa Technik Sofia was awarded Investor of the Year 2011. This is the second time the German-Bulgarian Joint Venture Company receives this prize after its initial investment in the launching of the facility in 2008. The award was presented to the CEO of Lufthansa Technik Sofia, Mr. Bernd Freckmann by the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traycho Traykov.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes a new client - British Airways! The British airline will be provided with base maintenance for three of their Boeing 737 Classic. The first aircraft arrived in our facility and will undergo a heavy C-Check performed by the team of LTSF.
British Airways is the largest airline in the UK. The company is based in Waterside and operates one of the most modern fleets in the world, which consists of over 200 aircraft.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes Meridiana Fly! The team of Lufthansa Technik Sofia will take care for the base maintenance of their Airbus A320.
Meridiana Fly is the second largest airline in Italy which merges two renowned air transport businesses Eurofly and Meridiana. The Italian airline has a fleet of 35 aircraft, including 16 MD82, 12 Airbus A320, 4 Airbus A319, and 3 Airbus A330.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes a new client - Vladivostok Air! The Russian airline will be provided with fleet base maintenance for their Airbus A320. During its first stay in our facility the aircraft will undergo a C-Check performed by the team of LTSF.
Vladivostok Air is the largest air carrier in Russia's Far East with a modern air fleet, including the aircraft types Tu-204-300, Airbus A320, and Airbus A330-300.

Bulgaria Air and Lufthansa Technik Sofia have signed a ten-year line and fleet base maintenance contract for Bulgaria Air’s Airbus A319 and A320 as well as for the Boeing 737CL fleet. The base maintenance support includes light C-Checks and heavy D-Check events.
Base maintenance is provided directly in the Bulgarian capital Sofia whereas line maintenance services are offered in Sofia, Varna and Burgas.

A component supply agreement was also signed. The Total Component Support TCS® comprises local stock in Sofia as well as access to component pool for the airline’s nine aircrafts.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia (LTSF) welcomes a new client - Czech Connect Airlines (CCA)! The team of LTSF will carry out a C-Check on one of the airlines two Boeing 737 Classic aircrafts.
CCA is a start-up airline based in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Their fleet includes one B737-300 and one B737-400.

The Prime Minister Boiko Borisov was guest of honor at the official singing ceremony for the extension of the Lufthansa Technik Sofia facility. The official signing ceremony took place at the Military club. The extension of Lufthansa Technik Sofia would double the capacity of the facility for base maintenance. In addition a specialized hangar will be build for base maintenance activities for the fleet of Bulgaria Air. Lufthansa Technik Sofia is entrusted with the technical maintenance of the entire fleet of the national carrier. Lufthansa Technik Sofia has furthermore taking charge of the line maintenance service in Sofia, Varna and Burgas.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia and Tatarstan Airlines, based in Kazan / Tatarstan, have signed a ten-year contract providing Tatarstan Airlines with fleet base maintenance for their Airbus A320fam. and Boeing 737 fleet. The fleet base maintenance agreement includes light C-Checks and heavy D-Check events. Ruslan Shakirov, CEO of Tatarstan Airlines, said: "We are very satisfied with our decision to sign a contract for base maintenance with Lufthansa Technik Sofia. This is a beginning for a long-term partnership, which will be beneficial for both sides. We are convinced that performing base maintenance checks at Lufthansa Technik Sofia will significantly improve the reliability of our fleet, as this is the highest quality rated maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) station within the Lufthansa Technik AG and one of the best MRO's worldwide."

Today Lufthansa Technik Sofia celebrated the official opening of its new access road and entrance building. The event marked a milestone in the development of the company and the occasion was honored with speeches by Mr. Bernd Freckmann, CEO of Lufthansa Technik Sofia, and Mr. Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Bulgaria.

On 20th January 2011, Bmi/Bmibaby celebrated its 100th check with in the Lufthansa Technik Network. This maintenance event coincided with  Lufthansa Technik Sofia's 50th check milestone. The occasion was honoured by Mr. Bernd Freckmann, CEO of Lufthansa Technik Sofia, Mr. Jason Mahoney, Technical Director of Bmi and Mr. Marcus Motschenbacher, Director Network Sales and Contract Manager Lufthansa Technik.

Today the Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Mr. Traycho Traykov visited Lufthansa Technik Sofia. Together with Mr. Bernd Freckmann Minister Traykov signed a contract for co-funding the training program of Lufthansa Technik Sofia. The funding is part of the Law on Encouraging Investments in Bulgaria.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia recently completed a heavy maintenance check on an Airbus 320 aircraft of its long term customer Ural Airlines. Although an unscheduled replacement of Engine #2 Accessory Gearbox had to be carried out, the check was susseccfully completed in 16 days only and handed over to the customer.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes back British low-cost carrier bmibaby. After a successful maintenance campaign in winter 2009/2010 bmibaby again sends its fleet of eleven Boeing 737-300 aircraft to Sofia for base maintenance services.

Lufthansa Technik Sofia successfully completed four consecutive heavy maintenance events for Russian carrier Nordavia. Each of the four Boeing 737 Classic aircraft underwent a heavy C4 -check.

19.06.2010

Lufthansa Technik Sofia welcomes the first Boeing 737 Classic of Lufthansa. The aircraft will undergo a full D-check including painting and is the first aircraft of a nose-to-tail maintenance campaign.

After successfully performing 7 consecutive C-checks on Boeing 737 NG aircraft of Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, the last aircraft of this maintenance campaign was handed over to the customer.

After only seven months Lufthansa Technik Sofia successfully completed a series of 14 base maintenance events on BMI/bmibaby aircraft. The series included 11 nose-to-tail heavy checks on Boeing 737 Classic of bmibaby and 3 checks on Airbus A320 series aircraft of BMI.
